Kill Bill Two, though, ends with . . . a conversation. It's a loaded conversation, and you know someone's going to die at the end of it, but it's really remarkable. I compare it to that opening conversation with Christolph Waltz at the beginning of Inglorious Basterds. So filled with tension and menace. But QT is playing in a different league than most filmmakers.

Yeah, Rob Roy does it really well. And I remember Rule with such fondness. . . .Eric Samhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17847948709234757330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3918310454820522189.post-19734657921143531142012-06-12T09:09:59.678-07:002012-06-12T09:09:59.678-07:00I talk about this very issue with my film students...I talk about this very issue with my film students. (I learned it from you of course.) And ever since you posted your 00 post I've been thinking about it and reevaluating many if the films I've watched. What are your thoughts on "Kill Bill"? I revisited it recently after several years and I'm not sure how it fits into this paradigm.
BTW I remember watching "Rob Roy" at your house with the "Rule a Wife..." cast and I totally agree. Best movie fight scene ever.BobBBauerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16215156319861193705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3918310454820522189.post-76884740224670087302012-06-11T14:38:36.835-07:002012-06-11T14:38:36.835-07:00Oooo, yeah, I forgot that one. It has a very dramatic, unexpected ending. I appreciated it a lot more on the second viewing, understanding the story better. It also has a lot of amazing fight scenes.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
